We offer confidential independent psychological consultations, assessments and therapies for families and children.

Therapy services

There are times for any family when additional psychological support can help to overcome difficult times. At The Psychology Partnership we work alongside families and children to provide a confidential and independent psychological therapy service to support positive change. We draw from many years experience of working with people of all ages across the lifespan who are facing a wide variety of difficulties. We offer a highly-professional, evidenced-based psychological therapy service tailored to your needs.

We specialise in children’s anxiety, behaviour problems, and parental stress with children and young adults living with parents. We work in partnership with family systems as well as individually with children, teenagers and with parents to promote personal and social confidence, mental health and wellbeing. Where appropriate, we can also liaise with educational organisations to promote educational engagement and social integration as part of our therapeutic work with families.

We understand and respect that financial and time resources are a challenge for most families and we believe psychological therapy services should be accessible. We therefore work in a focused way to help you achieve your therapeutic goals in the shortest realistic timescales. For most families we offer brief therapy (3-6 sessions) focused on overcoming difficulties quickly, collaboratively and effectively. We use a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, The Incredible Years Parenting Programme, Attachment Theory, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Video Interaction Guidance.

Our therapy services clinic is based at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre at Treliske in Truro. Following an in-depth assessment of your concerns we will develop a plan of action collaboratively with you. We provide clear guidance to family members from the beginning of the therapeutic process and will normally expect you to undertake activities between treatment sessions to support changes.
