    DR BEN LASKEY IS A CONSULTANT CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST AND DIRECTOR OF THE PSYCHOLOGY PARTNERSHIP. HE HAS A LONG HISTORY OF WORKING POSITIVELY WITH CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS AND PARENTS.

Dr Ben Laskey

Dr Ben Laskey is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Director of The Psychology Partnership. He has a long history of working positively and respectfully with children, adolescents and parents. He has worked clinically in a number of NHS and Council services since 1999. He was Parenting Lead and Parenting Expert for the City of Salford and has held academic posts both with the University of Manchester and Exeter University. He has worked as an Expert Witness in the Family Courts since 2008. He co-founded the independent psychology practice, PACTT Ltd, in 2010 and The Psychology Partnership in 2014.

Ben has spoken at Legal conferences (Resolution Law, Devon; the Child and Family Justice Board, Cornwall) and publishes in Family Law Journal. He has published clinical research in the field of parenting, childhood anxiety and children’s confidence and spoken on these subjects at local and national training events and conferences. Ben enjoys teaching on the University of Exeter’s High Intensity Child IAPT course. He has served as an examiner for Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programmes at the University of Manchester and the University of East Anglia. Ben has served as Chair of the North West Child and Families Special Psychology Interest Group (a subdivision of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Clinical Psychology) and as a national committee member and scientific advisor for the Child and Family Special Interest Group of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Dr Ben Laskey is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a member of the Divisions of Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology and of the BABCP. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. He is a registered Expert Witness with the British Psychological Society.

Dr Laskey has conducted assessments on Jersey and the Isles of Scilly and has worked with the Court in Antigua and Barbuda, and with Legal practitioners in Barbados. Ben has specialist knowledge and skills in working with systems around children to build resilience and to support healthy emotional and social development. He has extensive experience of conducting complex assessments with large families with additional needs.

Ben has worked since 2008 as an Expert Witness for the Family Courts in the North East and the South West where he has established an excellent reputation for delivering clear reports that aid decision making for vulnerable children.

Family Law: Cognitive Assessments
Ben has a special interest in neuropsychological testing (Cognitive assessments) and assessments of Capacity. He conducts these assessments at short notice and to tight timescales for the Court, local authorities and other organisations.

Family Law: In-Depth Psychological Assessments
Dr Laskey works with high-risk individuals and with problems related to family violence, addiction, abuse and neglect. He undertakes assessments in highly complex childcare cases.

Personal Injury:
Ben has undertaken several thousand Personal Injury reports (including road traffic, employment and negligence claims) working both for defendants and claimants and accepting joint instructions. He has extensive experience of preparing joint statements.
